ARDEX Provide the Industrial Flooring
System Solution
The perfect industrial flooring system
was provided by ARDEX UK to complete a refurbishment
project on behalf of one of the North East's leading
catering butchers R. Manners & Sons Ltd of Ponteland,
Newcastle.
Following comprehensive research and
development, the new range of industrial flooring products
from ARDEX provides a totally integrated system solution,
which combines product compatibility with advanced performance,
specifically designed for use within a wide range of
demanding industrial environments.
The project brief was to refurbish
the floor of the storage and despatch areas within the
warehouse. As expected, a floor which could withstand
stringent hygiene routines and regular wheel based traffic
was necessary.
To commence, both areas received the
impressive ARDEX
SD-T B levelling base mix, which was pump applied
to rapidly produce a hard and level surface. The loading
bay area then received a sealing coat of ARDEX
R 30 E Water-based Epoxy Coating prior to two coats
of ARDEX R 35
E Solvent Free Epoxy Coating, providing the final
wearing surface. ARDEX
R 35 E is easy to clean, with good resistance to
liquids and oils making it the ideal choice in a variety
of locations including warehouses, kitchens, dairies,
production and processing areas.
The cold storage area received a tough
and easily cleaned layer of ARDEX
R 80 P Heavy Duty Polyurethane Screed, which has
been independently tested, to ensure its suitability
for use in food and drinks production environments.
Red was chosen from the range of colours available to
define designated work areas. Combining performance
with ease of use, ARDEX
R 80 P is hard wearing with high chemical resistance,
making it ideal for aggressive areas which require steam
cleaning, such as food processing, drinks production,
dairies, general heavy duty plant and traffic areas
where a joint free finish is required and cleanliness
is paramount.
ARDEX
R 10 P Polyurethane Coving and Wall Render was applied
to various high intensity areas where rigorous hygiene
routines would be implemented.
