ARDEX Floorcovering Adhesives and Rapid Repair Mortars
Perfect for Halfords
Hull Flooring Limited were commissioned by Halfords, the UK’s number one retailer of car parts, cycles and accessories to install a total flooring system solution for their new 750m² superstore in Bodmin, Cornwall. Like an increasing number of national flooring contractors, Hull Flooring specified ARDEX’s commercial flooring system, including their recently launched floorcovering adhesives, to provide the necessary fast track, high performance installation.
ARDEX FEATHER FINISH was used for small smoothing and patch repairs to the existing mezzanine floor. ARDEX FEATHER FINISH provides easy and convenient on-site working, as it only requires the addition of water to produce an exceptionally strong bond, without the additional expense of primers. ARDEX FEATHER FINISH dries rapidly to deliver a true feather-edge that allows further work to commence after as little as 15 minutes. In addition, ARDEX A 45 rapid hardening and drying internal repair mortar, ideal for thicker repairs, was utilised on various areas including the stair treads. The rapid hardening and drying properties of ARDEX A 45 meant that it was ready to walk on and receive the floorcoverings only 90 minutes after application.
To install the various floorcoverings, Hull Flooring specified products from ARDEX’s innovative floorcovering adhesives range. Key benefits of the range include premium performance, solvent free formulations with low odour and exceptionally high yield, plus built-in compatibility with all ARDEX sub-floor smoothing and levelling compounds, fast track screeds and DPM’s.
To fix the carpets, ARDEX AF 200 General Purpose Carpet Adhesive was selected. Features of ARDEX AF 200 include excellent early and long term adhesive strength with exceptionally long tack time and superior wet grab. Highly versatile, ARDEX AF 200 is ideal for the application of textile floorcoverings including fibre bonded, needle loom, latex and rubber foam backed, hessian, felt and resin backed carpets, plus some PVC-based sheet and tiles.
ARDEX AF 100 Pressure Sensitive Acrylic Flooring Adhesive was utilised to install the vinyl floorcoverings. Perfect for use with all types of PVC/Vinyl floorcoverings, ARDEX AF 100 can be applied by trowel and then rolled to remove all trowel serration marks.
