ARDEX Industrial Floor System Takes the Weight
ARDEX UK, manufacturers of fast track resin flooring systems once again teamed up with Saber Systems Limited to provide the perfect solution for an resin flooring refurbishment. Dearneside Fabrications, steel fabricators, initially commissioned Manor Industrial Services Limited, who sub-contracted Saber Systems to provide a new floor within the 20,000 sq ft manufacturing facility in Sheffield.
It was essential to utilise an industrial floor system that delivers an extremely hard, flat and durable surface that would be able to withstand the consistent heavy weight of steel and plant machinery placed upon it.
ARDEX SD-T Industrial Floor System has been proven throughout a range of industries as the most sophisticated and cost effective industrial floor system available today. Saber Systems had no hesitation in specifying it to fulfil the performance and timescale demands.
The mechanically prepared and primed concrete sub-floor was pre-levelled with ARDEX SD-T B base mix, which was dry and hard enough within a matter of hours, to enable the pumped application of a minimum 5mm thickness of ARDEX SD-T concrete topping.
Specifically developed for the rapid resurfacing and levelling of existing concrete floors, a smoothing layer of ARDEX SD-T delivered a self-levelling, fluid mortar. Due to the built-in ‘Rapidry Formula’ technology that chemically binds the mix water within the mortar, ARDEX SD-T dried and hardened rapidly, to provide the necessary flat, durable and hard wearing surface.
