ARDEX Delivers Perfection for New
Comet Superstore
ARDEX UK, the trusted manufacturer
of fast track screeding and levelling products for the
retail sector were delighted to work in partnership
with Specialist Screeding Solutions of Shepperton, Middlesex
to provide the complete screeding solution for a new
outlet on behalf of the UK's leading out of town electrical
retailer, Comet.
The new Comet superstore in Guildford
required a durable, flat and smooth floor to receive
a floorcovering at the earliest possible opportunity.
With an excellent track record for successful commercial
flooring installations, ARDEX's ARDEX
A 35 rapid drying screed was specified as it provides
key benefits for the retail sector including; ease of
use, cost effectiveness and the all important, fast
track performance.
The 1900m²
concrete sub-floor was levelled with a 70mm thick ARDEX
A 35 cement and sand screed, laid over a polyethylene
DPM. The ARDEX
A 35 cement and sand screed hardens so quickly,
that it can be walked on after only 3 hours and rapid
drying times mean further work can commence after just
24 hours, significantly reducing down time.
The next stage of the project utilised
ARDEX's market leading water based self-levelling smoothing
compound ARDEX
K 15, which was applied over the hard and dry ARDEX
A 35 screed surface, that had been primed with ARDEX
P 51. A smooth and flat finish resulted, which was
walkable after just 2 hours and was ready to receive
the final floorcovering 24 hours later. An incredibly
versatile product to use, ARDEX
K 15 achieves superb results regardless of whether
it is pump or trowel applied.
